Creaking Boot Door ... Done Alignment ... John said its done, but i still feel its slightly slanting...
Thats all for my 10k servicing o___o and that took 4 hours \
Well, for my current speedometer, the speeds i tested it with a friend going along side me is +10km/h, meaning while the meter says that i am at 80km/h, my friend driving side by side with me is travelling at 90km/h.

Got my starter replaced. However still have the screeching sound from the back which goes on and off. The mechanic says its due to me using 95 petrol.. which I highly doubt is the cause of it.. Anyways will leave it as it is first. Don't want to waste time and petrol going to and fro to the service center. Have yet to find time to go down to Chery to claim my OPC coupon refund too. I thought I am the only one with the steering alignment problem. I had told them to align it but its still the same... As for the boot creaking... mine have not developed it yet.. perhaps a matter of time before it does! Sadiq, coolness! What speakers are you installing? Tell them another hafei owner recommended ya yeah You doing sound proofing for all the doors?

ur using 95?i've always been using 98...those fellows advise me not to use 95..oh well..
and im installing rodec speakers with built in bass..my uncle's actually..he was the one who went down to far east auto and they sure are nice..im nt sure whether its soundproofing coz the guy told my uncle he would fix a layer of thick wood or something like that..im nt sure if thats soundproofing..just my front doors as im gonna install the speakers like how u did..
and for ur screeching sound, i know hw u feel..it really frustrating that its nvr perfect..i doubt if other car brands requires you to send your car so often..ahahaha..anyways might let go of my hafei by year end and get a normal decent car..

I read the car's manual and also read online about the differences between 95 and 98 and based on the information i gathered, settled for 95. Furthermore with the ever increasing petrol prices, 95 is more affordable.
Andy is a nice guy. Oh then yours is not soundproofing. They told me the same thing too about "a piece of wood". What they meant was that they will add a wooden platform on which to mount the speaker on. Its just like the pictures of my front door. The whole black carpeted piece is the wood he is referring to. This will prevent the speakers from rattling. If you have the budget, sound proof the doors and all. Are you changing your horn as well while you are at it?
Hmmm... i guess for China cars they all suffer more or less from these type of problems here and there. The only way to know is to check with owners of such cars and get their feedback. I wonder if there are buyers for our Hafeis and how much they would fetch....

hmmm might consider using 95 then..98 really taxing..even jb now petrol expensive..
and for the speakers, i dunno if my uncle would agree on soundproofing coz he is paying..and im gonna fix the horn i guess..
as for sale of hafei, i wonder when the government gonna implement the cash for scrap law..if that law comes in then it would be good..but i dont think hafei has any value..haahah

95 is fine. I am even tempted to go 92 since the manual mentioned a min of RON 90. Haha... So lucky to have your uncle belanja you speakers and installation! Yeah man change the horn too. Its much more pleasant when you horn others and it sounds more noticeable to other road users. If they have a cash rebate for scrapping cars, I am pretty sure there will be a rule whereby you are not allowed to use the cash to finance buying another car. If not, it would be making it easier to change to new cars rather than reducing the number on the road. I think so too... dobut theres much value for Hafei. If there's the cash part, at least not so bad... Hmm... lostheaven i wonder if mikeltan has any inroads to the sidesteps... I remembered he planned to go to JB to find out the last time. I just calculated my fuel consumption after the first service. I am still very dissapointed with the mileage I get. Driving is 50% Highway and 50% urban traffic. 90% of the time with one passenger and on sundays, a full compliment of 7 adults. At the moment I get only 8.07Km/l Previously before servicing it was more or less the same at 8.04km/l. Driving with a light foot and aniticipating traffic to keep the momentum moving. I am wondering how much the rest are getting and with how many passengers... Because when comparing to the other thread on consumption, mine is terrible! Its below average it seems...

Well, i am still getting about 9-10km/l but its usually a max of 4 passengers. On weekdays its just my mum who use the car to go to work and back. The weight of passengers matters quite alot and u can really feel the weight pulling u down if u are on full load. Oh and if you check your tyres frequently and inflate them regularly will help too =)
Max number of passengers loaded in my car was 10 and that was really hard to drive too..haha

How regularly should I check the tyre pressure? And to what PSI should I pump it up to?
Holy Cow! How did you manage to fit 10 passengers in there!? I reckon there's a lot of kids... haha... At most for adults, I managed only 8, 6 big sized adults and 2 mediun built adults, which I just did yesterday for father's day supper... Over turned a tupper ware which is just about the right height and width to fit in btw the 2nd row seats. Placed a cushion on it and voila.... pretty comfortable actually!
Definitely can feel the weight... Gotta rev it longer and higher before shifting... Is yours a 1.3L as well?

yeah lucky me..haha..its nt my hafei also actually..my late grandad bought it for family but parked it at my place coz i have a driving license.. im gonna start using 95 from now on i guess since u guys are..haha..save more..but im wondering if its gonna affect mileage..coz i get ard 9-10 when im driving without aircon..i drive alone 80% of the time..weekends with family almost full load with aircon..i get 8 with aircon.. for tyre's john said its 200 and i think we have to pump regularly coz the tyre is pathetic.. once i squeezed 8 of us and it was fun! without aircon though..hahahaha

Yup, mine is a 1.3L and i am currently serving my national service, so i did the 10 pax when i went for nights out with friends .. and i have 3 big sized friends .. i cant even go up the slopes and end up stalling.. haha.. fit 4 small ones behind, 2 by the sides in the mid and 1 in the center(i placed a small stool) and 1 in the front with me Aircon on and its was really difficult to drive as i have to brake early and move off slowly even with a higher rev. For the tyres, i am pumping 230psi for the front and 240psi for the back, after inflating the tyres you will feel that your car will be easier to steer compared to a slightly deflated tyre. I just pump air when i feel that my steering is getting heavy, usually its about 200psi when i feels its heavy

Wow.. poor little Hafei... Surprisingly the chassis, suspension and drivetrain is able to take the abuse we throw at it with the number of passengers we lug around!
Will check my tyre pressures soon.. My tires are Korean Roadstone brand. Perhaps they don't leak as much air as the stock China tires. The new models now come shodded with Yokohamas!
Hmm... I just fuelled her up and calculated the consumption. The consumption suddenly jumped to 10.76Km/l! I am shocked... how can there be such a sudden jump. Perhaps I made a mistake with the mileage. Will monitor the new tank... Now pumping Shell 95 as opposed to the usual Esso 95.
