Will be doing a milage run. Lots of wedding lunch and dinner invitations across the island before the coming Fasting month of Ramadan.
Will be doing with default air filter and K&N open pod filter. Will be posting as I go along.

Back from stuffing myself silly. Realised that I know how much on average the milage I can squeeze from my stock engine. Might as well use the K&Ns and get on with it. DIY filter change took me less than 30 minutes. Noticed that the engine had just got rid of that "stuffy nose" breathing.A little revvy like just come out of the factory. On with the milage runs.

I'll try to post some pics if I know whats wrong with my browzer. No pics are able to download.
Nothing fancy about the setup.Just the filter, adapter tube for pcv and other vacuum lines and a simple heat shield plus fittings.$210 worth of merchandise.
Fuel consumption a bit on the high side.Probably increased air intake therefore more fuel burned.Feels like the engine has "grown up" from a 1.1 to a 1.2.

Perhaps you try a different browser? I am currently using Google Chrome. Much nicer than IE. I like the clean layout and it loads quicker to boot! Oh... yours sounds more advanced. With PCV and vaccum lines moved? I am really curious to see how yours is set-up. I didnt do heat shield on mine.. got lazy hahaha.. Time for me to spend some time and make up a heatshield to make that CAI of use. Also my soundproof mat have been sitting at home for a month. Again lazy to do the floor.... must spend a wknd to finish up all these things My FC been more or less the same... with a/c on its averaging high 9's (9.8) to about mid 10's (10.4km/l). Did a run up to malacca with a/c on and 2 on-board got me 11+ km/l only. Love the FC and power of no A/C but just cant stand the heat!

How time flies when ur busy.
Still can't get pics to show. Friends say that my firewall, adware, spyware and antivirus programs are interfering with the browser. Sometime I feel like bringing my computer to the top floor and watch it "fly" to the ground floor.Grrrrrrrrr................
Anyway, the vacuum lines are just pushed to one corner and arranged neatly.Nothing disconnected there. Before that, they were all over the place like Mee Goreng. PCV line disconnected from stock air box and reconnected with new filter housing.Thats it.
Fuel consumption still quite high, even when lightfooting, drafting etc....... Finding solutions to get around this.

Lots of digging.Again.
The reason my fuel economy is going down is down to one tiny thing. The o2 sensor. Changing to a less restrictive air filter will let the engine breathe more.More air with the same amount of fuel in the combustion chamber. The sensor will register more unused air in the exhaust thus telling the injectors to pump in more fuel.
Options,revert to stock filter??

So far with the new air filter,I'm getting around 11 to 14 km/l.Not what I expected from using the stock filter which gives a little more on the milage.
Balancing on economy and performance can be tough somtimes.

We're practically driving the same 1.1l , how come different FC.........?? Except VS , some grounding and a cone filter,a few tweaks here and there ,thats about it. I don't know if we actually need to "tweak' ourselves. Or maybe I just drive like the person in the BBC - Vroom Vroom series - Gordon Mcgyver The Sunday Driver.

B4 I go back to camp, just try these.
Tweaking the driver. Accelerate slowly. No pedal to the metal when moving off. Drive conservatively.Don't drive as if there is no tomorrow. Ayoyo..........Just go to carbibles.com and click on"10 tips to improve your fuel economy"
Simple car tweaks. Have you changed or cleaned your air filter? Changed your coolant lately? Want to try DIY "water injection"? Want to try increasing tyre pressure? And many other things.....................................
Just try it , you'll definitely reap in the goodness of increased fuel economy.
