Some rewinds and fast forwards. Few months back, got the secrets to acetone.Sort of. Down the line, marvelled at the usage of acetone. Now stopped completely. Why? This is what I found out.Which is much to my discontent.
The bottom line is the ECU itself.
Acetone promotes a more complete burn of fuel than without.Resulting a little more power and fuel economy.Fine.Love that part. From that, there is excess O2(oxygen).Don't know why,but thats the concept of combustion. The extra O2 go past the O2 sensor, the O2 sensor detects a leaner mixture and tells the ECU to tell the fuel injectors to inject more fuel to richen the air fuel mixture. In the end you're just burning more fuel with acetone.Drat and double drat.
In this case my ECU detects it whenever I dump acetone in the fuel and readjusts itself.
Getting around it, is ECU "reflash" or "remap" as one might call it. Or getting your hands on EFIE unit to trick the ECU to run lean. Or stop using acetone all together.

Putting aside Einstien's theory of relativity.
The only way to actually "tune" a car nowadays is to "talk"to the ECU. Fluid changes, plugs, fliters and leads are the most that one can do. The "carb" car of the past can be tuned for whatever reasons, because no ECU to talk to.
The ECU controls everything from spark timing to aircon temp and so on. In this case the high difficulty and fear factor of DIY tuning. Also the $$$ factor of experts to do it.
So whatever magic done to improve the car,The ECU will spot it and re-adjusts unless we "tell" it otherwise.
What else...................................
Adjusting ourselves is the option. Leaving our heavy foot at home, don't drive the car like you stole it,..................................

It doesn't look that long since my last visit, but its still a long time.
One last time, hopefully to fly to fuel economy heaven. Restarting and redoing my water injection project which stalled many times along the way. No more "manually" spraying on the filter.(Leceh) No more "dripping" water through the hoses in the hopes of using engine vaccum to "suck" the water.(little vacuum at WOT,high vacuum at idle) - not ideal.
And.....................hopefully with what little time I have, get it working and installed to enjoy the benefits.
And maybe get it installed on Bro Fit's tuned ride.Who knows he'll get some more horses while still retaining or maybe improving fuel economy. Cooler air charge, increased RON rating, internals are steam cleaned, decarbonising effect,bla,bla,bla................................. Just a thought anyway.
Time to mess up the kitchen table again.

Driving to work in the wee hours and back home again after 7pm for the whole of last month. Whats the deal?
Early morning and late evening drive time is very cooling. The breeze is aircon cold. Whats really the deal?
The temp gauge stays at 1 to 3 bars. The engine is not very efficient at these temps. And running in"rich" mode most of the times.
My solution is a grill blocker. Tore the cardboard from an A4 writing pad and covered the radiator.About a third of the radiator is covered.
Results................... Radiator reached optimum temp fast and stayed even while whizzing along at BKE. Ran "lean" more often.Great.

wouldnt this lead to overheating ? how many bars do u get now ? i also normally noticed 1-3 bars for my engine when the aircon is on.

The grill blocker doesn't block the grills 100%,its just a third of the grill is covered.I only do this during my early morning drive to work. The radiator grill is so efficient that I only get one bar throughout my morning journey. As proof I can smell the unburnt fuel vapours coming out of the exhaust.I'm running in rich mode at this point.Futhurmore, the engine is cold from one night in the carpark and takes some time to warm up. I would rather warm up the engine on-the-move than warming up while stationary.
Anyway, the fuel saver is (from what I can see) for cars with drive-by-wire.That there is no physical connection between pedal and throttle.

so means u cover ur grille every morning when u drive to work, and remove it on ur way back home after work ? dont know how they connect the fuel saver, asking his technical guy to contact me...

A little leceh,if you're the lazy type. Most of the time I just leave it in the grill.Unless it rains, then more leceh..............paper becomes pulp and have to hose it to clear the grill.
Anyway, really dug deep in cyberspace for apps for car diagnostics. Since I got a Nokia, didn't got much except Garmin Ecoroute. Most apps are for smartphones and androids. Anyone got simple cheap alternative? If not must save $$$ for one of those smartphones.

One day a knock on my door followed by some interesting examples showed to me by the salesperson, but insisted to be addressed as Eco Represantative. First example, showed me tips to improve fuel economy..................told the person,"Been there, done that." Second example, was to change to a smaller engine.I described my Serene to him and he quickly moved to other examples. Others were,go with LPG,hybrids and all electric. My answer was,do you think I have $$$ to do all this for simpletons like me?Any infrastructure? Is our gamen ready to do it NOW?I see nothing like that on the roads right now except petrol and diesel guzzelers eventhough there was hype here 2 decades ago.Where is it now?? He said thank you and left. Strangely enough, all my questions were unanswered.

Tricks to try to improve your fuel economy. You can drive like you always do........ After every oil change just indulge yourself with some high octane fuel like for example Shell V-power. Its full of detergents to clean the "insides" for the engine. If you're like me who can't afford high end fuels, just pour a bottle of fuel system cleaner. Which is readily available in supermarkets. And away you go till your next oil change.
Like to talk about other economy mods but its covered previously. No one likes long and old grandmother and grandfather stories.

The awesome real truth about fuel economy.
Since its common knowledge that 30% of the fuel burned just to move the car.(Very wasteful) The remainder of the 70% turns to heat, sound and smoke.
Dabbled with acetone and only got around extra 4%..........34% to move the car. Got Serene to digest some water with the fuel and got almost 50% to move the car.(Around 45% and practically the best result) Its either by wetting the air filter or direct spraying of water into the intake.
Never got to try HHO cells because I don't know where to store the excess hydrogen created. As we all hydrogen is very reactive and explosive. Hydrogen reacts with the aluminium and corrodes it faster than normal.(As most engine parts are aluminium nowadays) Its more explosive than petrol.(more power at the fraction of the cost of ordinary fuel)
What else................? Unless you got loads and loads of cash hidden somewhere under your pillows......... Few options like conversion to CNG, hybrid, all-electric and full turbo back outfits. Yes, believe it or not going turbo is now more efficient than the normal n/a engine.(Naturally aspirated) That's why the turbocharger is coming back to the F1.
Overall, I can't do much but mostly observe and control my fuel economy to a certain extent. Other than that you can't do anything except watching you hard earned cash turn to smoke. Literally.
