Unless their policies changed, they are talking thingy regarding Chery side being for working on engines. My servicings have all been at Hafei side.
Oh I see.... yeah that place is a bit ulu in a way especially at night. I understand what you mean about the going back part. At times I dread it too. But at the same time it beats coming at 7am and waiting out till 3pm on a Sat.

Finally,I actually have time for me and my family, after weeks of work,work,work............ Got to do what I love to do...........down and dirty with my ride. Rumaged thru stuff I stripped from my previous ride.Thinking of install them on my Minz.(Maybe) Aquamist water injection.......................everything works except the pump. Raisins still work.(not dried grapes) HHO generator still works, but in bits all over the kitchen table. Fuel heater ..............too rusty. Vacuum gauge .....................need to figure out the installation. 20 liter container of battery water.............gathering dust. Leftover fluids for my previous ride and my dad's.(oil, brake fluid,coolant.......etc.) Few agendas. Forgo the warranty and DIY.To do or not to do? Install that surbo thing. Weight reduction. Call MTV to pimp my ride.(no lah jas joking only lah) Find place for first aid kit and fire extinguisher. BTW.Anyone knows where I can get my hands on a simple air dam and rear window visors? Thanks in advance.

hey bro..u really power man..hahaha..anyways what does those stuff do?
anyways does anyone here has problems with their aircon?(funny creaking sound)
really disturbing me..
tried this thing called charger..just plug in and here is what i found out..more horsepower..better fuel consumption..dunno if it would maintain that way over long run..just something my friend let me tried..

Thanks in advance. The rear visor i got it free from hafei.. just tell them got water seeping thru the sliding door windows and they gave me the visors .. dunno if they will charge u now or not ... And nice list of things to add back to ur new ride =) But whatever it is, if u are unsure, ask someone who is capable to do it, dont risk the safety and comfort of ur car =)

Many thanks to Mr Admin, senior members....................I will never stray too far from the sidewalk.
Most of my "mods" are strictly for milage gains and some of the horsepower.Everything helped my Daihatsu Hijet achieve its gains be it milage, fuel economy and power.
But that was a long time ago.Eventhough my Minz and Hijet are almost similar in shape ,size, and pasenger capacity. But both specs are different altogether. And yes I have no intention of risking safety and comfort.
Creaking aircon...................few posibilities. Blower fan bearings need lubrication............light greasing or WD40. Clogged air passage ways...............vacuuming helps. Aircon fluid too dry..........top up aircon oil.
Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks in advance. Wah... so many goodies to install. Interested in the effect of the aqua mist system on consumption and power. Install it man! Whats a HHO generator? Install those items that would not void the warranty first. Or if the items are reversible, install them and remove them whenever you send it in for service. Although it would be troublesome. Better to keep your warranty. Just in case... I just placed a small fire extinguisher under the middle row seat...

Bro loudness, I have taken some pictures of the lines going to the carb. Wondering which one is the Coolant line to do the bypass... Not sure if the 1.1L layout is the same.. Was hoping you could help identify the coolant lines from the pictures ;D Here they are: 3 lines here... 1 line coming from below the carb... The single line is coming from this pipe going through some sensor? Thanks!

I really envy the close ups you take.I can't do nuts with my digicam.Still blur blur like dried sotong.
By all means I want to install the aquamist. But as I said the pump is kaput.I cannot get a spare pump,I need to get a complete set.Money no enough.
HHO - Hydrogen generator.Great for fuel economy addicts.More info......just surf the net.
For the warranty sake,I'll just KIV these "goodies" till later.
As for the coolant bypass, sad to say,all the tubing are interconnected between the air filter, pcv valve, charcoal canister and co2 sensor.Coolant just goes from the radiator to pump to engine and back to radiator................none of the coolant lines that I traced goes anywhere near the carb.Bummer.

Its not me trust me... its the camera doing its job! Just choose macro mode for close ups. Should turn out better!
I searched for aquamist... expensive stuff man! It looks like a cpu mother board.. Can't get a replacement pump from the authorised distributor here? Would be a waste not to use it just because of a faulty pump?
I just bought the vacuum gauge.. The shop says our car cant install. I don't really believe him so ended up buying the gauge. Thought of installing it myself. But the problem is identifying the correct lines to connect it. Any ideas ?
Bro loudness if you decide to install the gauge perhaps we can do it together. Have a mini DIY session liao!

The one I have is the basic kit.The bare bones type.Consisting the pump, plumbing, wiring, switches and the water sprayer.I got it during "offer" few years back. Its DIY and cheap. The one that looks like a cpu is the "better ones" consisting more parts - regulators, solenoids, pressure gauges, etc.Includes install and labour.Thats why its expensive. They don't sell individual parts, have to get them in a complete set.But I'm still looking around for the replacement pump.
There are no unused vacuum lines in our car to connect the gauge. The only way to go is to splice an existing line, conect a three way T valve and conect the gauge. The problem lies in choosing which line to splice.Thats probably why the shop seems hesitant to install or maybe they never come across a Minz before. I'm still hesitant. But thats not gonna stop me and I'm not giving up.
P.S. I've seen these gauges installed on so called "cant install" cars.Examples Kelisas,Kancils,Mercs,Volvos, pickups, vans.

Hopefully you can find a replacement pump.. BTW how much did it cost for the aquamist system?
The vacuum gauge i got is Autogauge analog one. RM$88 for it. It comes with the T fitting.
The mechanic was saying that if I install it, the gauge works but not correctly. He says instead of dropping pressure and back again, the needle will just deflect from one end to the other end.
He explained it to me but was not very clear as to why it was like that...I also thought that he probably not familiar with the car and did not want to probe further.

Slowly and surely I'll find one.Worst come to worst I just have to get the whole complete set.Bummer. Price..........$89.That was 9 years ago.God knows how much it costs now.
My experience with the gauges tells me that it is normal behaviour.Especially during engine idle.It looks like the gauge is in a state of haywire. Its when you start moving, you'll see see the needle settling down to a certain "sweetspot" on the rpm range. The place where you get maximum economy. But when the needle still moving back and forth during driving.............Problemo......vacuum leak.
Its true. The Minz is practically a new species for pros who are only used to Japanese,Korean and Continental.Bummer.
BTW,I'm doing temporary connections and testing on all available vacuum lines for my vacuum gauge. This may take a while.("Warranty void" still flashes at the back of my mind.) I don't want this to become a "display" item and a waste off hard earned cash.

$89 is darn cheap. I guess that's the best bang for the buck add on you had? I read on MCF, the latest systems costs about $1K+! The mechanic I think was explaining that instead of settling down to a sweet spot, he says it will just move from end stop to the other end stop. He explained that its of no use and he says there is no proper vacuum line. I really doubted his statements. Was a young ah-beng kind of mechanic hahaha! My guess is he is just inexperienced and lazy to go and find out where he can tap the vacuum from. I have been doing some testing of the lines as well. So far found two lines. Both are I think, are for the brakes. Here are the 2 lines I identified and tested to work with the vacuum gauge. The second picture, the line is coming from below the carb... The black plastic box beside the airbox, is that a form of brake booster? Is it advisable to tap the vacuum from that is going to the brakes? If not wherelse can we tap?
