Okay let me help loudness answer the questions since he is in camp. To remove the air filter, unclip the 2 metal clips on the top of the air filter box. Once unclipped, pry the 2 halves of the air filter box apart and wiggle the air filter out. Nothing much you can do to clean it. At most can clean the filter box and brush off dirt from the filter. If too dirty and black, its time to change the filter. DIY water injection I think is spraying water on the filter element to keep the air coming in cool and dense. As for air pressure, look at the tire side wall. Look for max psi/max load. Pump to 90% of thIS max pressure.

Wow! Even when I'm "taking cover" somewhere in the durian infested jungles of Seletar someone can still read my mind.
Even though for me its minus 10% of the max PSI.Its the same thing.

Lots of digging.Again. The reason my fuel economy is going down is down to one tiny thing. The o2 sensor. Changing to a less restrictive air filter will let the engine breathe more.More air with the same amount of fuel in the combustion chamber. The sensor will register more unused air in the exhaust thus telling the injectors to pump in more fuel. Options, revert to stock filter?? I believe thats what happens when we change to a free flow air filter. Anyone for UniChip?? I am tempted! But the cost... $900+ for dyno and hardware... hmmm....

I'm all for Unichiping ,but my thin wallet and shallow pockets wouldn't allow it.Sob.......sob...... I've seen how these things work. But so far everyone wants the "performance" side ,not the economy side. I find it really sad and dissapointing that very very few want it. Its making me feel and believe that fuel economy is a MYTH.And I'm the only one here doing it.It's really really tough finding hardcore followers.

Yup, with our underpowered car.. its hard to want economy .. especially if u drive in malaysia.. u would need the extra power to overtake... today i just went for a one day melaka trip with my MinZ ... and god was it difficult to maintain a constant speed

Its great to know that there are still people like you whom are into fuel economy.
It takes finesse and a lot of discipline to drive economically.
If there was a fuel economy challenge organised by Vertex for Hafei/Chery, you definitely have a chance ;D
My desire with unichip is to get the car to have the same power with aircon on as it does without aircon before unichip.
If I have more torque, can change gears earlier and save fuel. Well at least thats my theory hahaha...

Broke my personal top speed 139km/h ... during my recent melaka trip, was going downhill, overtaking and had a car behind me.. had to really go fast to overtake the vehicles before letting the car behind me pass ..

If this was a race ,I know I will lose badly. 139km/h is way over my head..................literally.
Imagine this, pistons and valves pounding inside the cylinders(up,down,up,down) Injectors spraying fuel(squirt, squirt here, squirt, squirt there) Explosion after explosion as the fuel is burnt. All these and more, thousands of times every minute. Its hell alright. And yet this is what the engine is supose to and more.
But the "speed limiter" in me won't let me pass 70km/h.

Strangely enough my FE rose when I revert back to stock air filter. Starting to contemplate on whether to use the open pod or just leaving it permanently on my dad's ride.
Hmmmm....................................

If you go NSH, think you will be in heart pain haha.. At times have to drag to about 4000RPM.
After last wk's deafening-drum busting trip up to Ayer Hitam, I decided to revert back to my closed pod. Now the induction noise is much more bearable. Though I miss the deep growl of the open pod.
I tried driving at 70km/h on one tank with air con on. I got my worst Fuel consumption yet.. 8+km/l. I am back to my normal driving style and its back to 10+km/l. Weird...

Since the day I started my fuel economy thingy,my average fuel consumption is 17km/litre. Driving alone,at night, with less traffic are a few contributing factors.
Still loved to spray water directly into the air intake. It is said to "steam clean" the internals and "blow" carbon deposits.Evidence is in the "soot" coming out of the exhaust. Ocasionally rev it 3000 rpm and see the "soot" come flying out.
Will be looking out for more fuel economy techniques. How knows,I might convert to pure electric engine.............hehe

1.1 same as yours.
You should see how I drive.Grannies drive better than me. Thats why and how I get those ridiculous milage. The way I drive is basically stretching your dollar and every drop of fuel.Using every tip and tricks available, conventional and non-conventional.Almost to the point of odsession.
So far I never filled up to full tank.Max limit for me is 3/4 tank. How far I go..................?Don't know cuz our island is a dot on the world map. Just drove round and around and around and around....................................................................................................................................................................................until sien.
