The alternator is in a state of herded to a corner where it can't escape. It dishes out electricity from the (+) side but goes through heaps of resistance coming back to the (-) side. Such as rusted connections, old and weakened wiring and stuff....... Meaning..........electricals are getting more and more inefficient. Your ride's grounding needs beefing up to prevent your new alternator form going kaput again and again. That's why you got flickering and its slowly killing your precious alternator and probably the next one......... This explains the short circuits you experienced recently.
This is all the more reason for me to get a hold of you. Beefing up the wires can be done before or after your alternator replacement. Best is a.s.a.p. The ball is in your court.

The forum is very quiet. Its very difficult to organise a meet up as a lot of us got so little time. I almost gave up........
But there will always be tomorrow and the day after that and so on......................to organise another meet up.
Almost every meet up I'll be late or no show. How malu is that?
Hopefully there will be a "big one" before our COE runs out.

A confirmed meet-up cum DIY cum service-your-own-minz this coming April 12. Its a great idea as the cost savings are of the roof and you get to know your ride more intimately.
For those who are interested but not acclimatised to DIY. Its best to do this very simple trick which I guess everyone knows........surf the net. There are tonnes of stuff in the world wide web on how to maintain your car YOURSELF. From Youtube to E-books. Lots and lots.
C'mon, give it a try. Not just entertainment but information too........Infotainment.
